Growing Up On Livestock Farm Linked to Increased Risk of Blood Cancers

ScienceDaily — Growing up on a livestock farm seems to be linked to an increased risk of developing blood cancers as an adult, indicates research published online in Occupational and Environmental Medicine. The risk of developing a blood cancer was three times as high for those who had grown up on a poultry farm, the study shows. The authors base their findings on an analysis of more than 114,000 death certification records from 1998 to 2003 for those aged between 35 and 85 and resident in New Zealand. Read article
